Default Front rotors painted!!

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...painted+rotors

Okay so I finished the rears last week.....turns out the front dust cover is much harder to remove & deeper in vs the rear (i.e not as visable) so I didn't paint the front dust cover....only the rotors....so this project is done....onto the next one.....I'm thinking recirc actuator..... but that looks like a PITA :>(

Nice Brian.

Please definitely update us as to how it holds up over time. I realize you're car isn't driven in the rain but at least we can get an idea of how the heat cycling affects the finish.

Car is looking sweet by the way.

And............what paint did you use?

Looks good Brian.

The place I take my car to when I'm not in the mood or need soemthing done faster than two weeks.....they paint every rotor with some WURTH paint designed for rotors. It's not cheap, but lasts forever.

I really don't know how long the paint will last? Since I stripped it pretty good to get the old rust off I'm hoping it lasts a while? The paint looks like it was designed for BBQ's...good to 1200 degrees...which is far hotter than my rotors should get? I will keep everyone posted on its durability! Worse case scenario is it doesn't last long & I get these instead

Yeah, you're not kidding about that.

Take a look at photos #24 through #29 at my Big Red brake upgrade index and you'll see what's involved.

I remember being pretty discouraged when I realized how much work it was going to be to upgrade the original shields to the slightly larger GTS version (I already had the replacement dust shields, so I was committed...)

Looking really sharp, Brian! You're not going to get dinged for that at a concours, are you? For not being "original"?

BTW Ed, nice set of pics there. Looks like a fun project.

I used the same stuff about 2 years ago on my disks and the still look the same. I car has been tracked 3 times since and that really backed it on. I used the black heat paint when I removed my radiator to clean out the wedged in debris. Looked like a new radiator when it went back in.
