Something to consider regarding times are that tires have improved. The type of tire from normal all season radial, dry or summer only radial, dot legal drag radial, and drag slicks, have a full .5 second variation for cars in our hp and wt range in the 1/4 mile. Drag slicks break parts, so I don't plan to go there just for better numbers, but I have considered using a DOT approved drag radial like the Nitto 555 for purposes of general mischief on the street, if I get a spare set of wheels and tires for rain season.

The majority of us had s4's (mine was the red one) and had similar sheets. There was one owner that did extensive modifications to his car, but his numbers weren't that much higher (+10) than mine due to tuning issues.

Brendan,

You were there in Joliet, what were your numbers on the 89? Do you remember the type of dyno we used?

Roger

Sorry Roger, Yes, thats a while - Jeez. Time Flies. That was 2000? 2001? I still have my sheet. That was a DynoJet, and my stock S4 did 291tq and 276hp.

80-82 TQ is a common misprint at 265. The actual figure is 256ftlb/348Nm.

Porsche's acceleration figures are tested with the "vehicle at curb weight according to DIN and half-load capacity". Max load being 683lbs/310kg.

Brendan,

Yup...2001. If I remember correctly, at that time, you had very little milage on your 89. Here's my sheet. At the time, my car has 157k on it.

At the top right corner, the tech wrote the flywheel hp. I didn't know they were calculating the flywheel hp during the "slow down" phase...so I was lightly applying the brakes. So...if I ever sold the car, the ebay ad would say that I had a dyno sheet that reflected 352 hp. J/K...the ad would say that it "feels" like 350 hp
