Hey Majestic Moose thanks for posting the info on the LED's...I would like to upgrade the other external lights but have been reading about people having issues with bulb warnings from the sentinel. Can you share what you did to address?

Thanks

Matt.

The tail lamp warning does not signal on my car but the stop lamp does. I'm sure there are some elegant solutions but I'm following the advice here and just unplugging the two wire connector that comes out of the 12 pin bulb controller plug. My car is all apart so I do not know if it will work.

Be sure to avoid touching metal conductors to the body of the car when putting lights back in...... Unless you already have the battery disconnected

If you are referring to the LED bulb list I've updated post #15

Thank MM....I’ve order based on that list. You referenced a “stand alone thread once satisfied”, poked through your existing threads and didn’t see one...so just thought a quick ask would get it answered. Amazingly helpful..thanks for the intel and, fair warning, I may be back with questions...

I never got around to making a thread and I need to, because there are some things to be aware of. I am making a point of doing this right now. In the meantime, ask away

Everything is changed out with suggested superbrights leds. Having some gremlins now. 86.5. Prior to conversion everything worked but the night prism lights. I’m assuming I missed something stupid.

I do get the parking light LED script to light up and the prism lights come on when headlight or parking light switch is engaged. I’ve double checked polarity, etc...advice?

I assume you have double checked that the connectors to the cluster are correct? Two of them can be easily switched by mistake.

How far did you go into the cluster? Replaced odometer gear? If all you did was replace bulbs then I am at a lost as to what the problem is. Have you tested the LEDs before installing? A 9v battery is enough to light them.

All of that....numbers and tick marks as they came off. I did replace my vacuum system in the fresh air and have the panel out...staring at it enough and I think it s a ground issue. I pulled the entire electric panel, so maybe something there. Just tested all the fuses, etc. example: key off...flashers on...full bright green turn indicator flash. Key on...I get the dim single flash. Gotta be a ground or short. I ran out of time tonight. I’ll keep you posted. I was just disheartened when I plugged it all up and pffft!

Any job job worth doing is worth doing 7 times! <—-think that’s going to be my new signature!

Clarifier: I did not pull the ribbon or gauges, etc...just bulb work and contact cleaning. All bulbs test and light when 9v power applied to pins.

still pretty sure it’s a short...still looking.

Found a short, cleaned the panel some more, and a couple LEDs out of polarity....The short was “shenanigans” by PO. Used my Power Probe and ECT 3000 short finder, then once I got some bulbs to light it was simply fixing the ones I had polarity reversed.

Thanks for the bulb chart and responses, priceless!

I broke my fog light bulb, need to re order that and she’s 100%

Looks good, were there any differences in the polarity of your cluster as compared to mine?

I didn't see your polarity post, I wish I had, it would have saved time. Most of my problems were reading the WSM backward on pin locations. I fought it for 2 days, but everything has been tested, the Contol panel pulled and cleaned (no noticeable issues there). Tested my CC pins and all that checks out, so if it's still not working after this I have a "Brain" problem or vaccum problem, but we'll see.

The only lights I had that didn't light up on the test/ignition pos 1 were the Trailer Signals (since I don't have them wired I assume they're not going to) and the SERVO light. Nothing I do makes that light up. Any idea?

The other problem I have is my AC/Waring Lamp/Door lock panel. The AC light turns on, but the "!" and the Lock button bulbs don't light up. They do when bench tested, but not when hooked up. I didn't change any bulbs in that module or the A/C. I paid too much for the rebuilt unit to crack it open and void the warranty. The Lock Button does lock and unlocks the doors, just no light. you have any idea where to start on that (I've only lightly researched it) I'd appreciate any idea(s).

Thanks for following up.
