Default I'll show you my bolster if you'll show me yours!

Ever notice how many sellers do not show fotos of the driver's side seat bolster? Makes you know there also must be other areas that are purposely unfotographed. When looking at any 928, that's one of the tell-tale signs of how much use it might have had....better than looking at pedal wear.

I was fortunate. The seller stated, slight wear on drivers bolster. It is not that bad at all. Do you or anyone on the list know how or who repairs worn bolsters ?

Best to replace the bolster panels rather than to attempt to patch them. Owners in our area have found local car upholstery shops that do this and the results match factory original.

I have not been able to find anyone locally that will do the bolsters.

My seats are in tremendous condition with no cracks or problems and it is somewhat surprising considering the gent I bought it from would have filled up the lower portion of the seat and also that they are 22 years old.

You might try asking at your local Porsche and/or BMW dealership about who does their leather work. I had a local gal who works with the higher end dealers re-dye my seats and the results were amazing. Total cost was $125!

Here's a before and after of the driver's side bolster. (BTW, the color match was perfect, the difference in the picture is just due to lighting and my lousy photography skills)

If an auto upholstery shop says they cannot fix this, then what business are they in?

Zeus, I just brought my drivers seat to a local Auto upholstery shop, he sewed in a complete new leather panel (bolster) and replaced the piping along the edge. Also he restitched my seat bottom. $200 complete. Now its at a re-dye shop for both seats to be done $75 per seat......Bellingham, ma
