Default Spanking an unworthy opponent

I'm on the way home from work last night in the GTS about 11PM and take a back road (Mountain House to W. Shulte Rd) into town (Tracy). The first mile or so off the freeway is through an industrial area with an eight lane street. A four wheel, big block Pick Up comes roaring up behind me and gets right on my bumper. I'm already doing about 50 in a 45 so I move over a lane and he charges on by and pulls up on the bumper of the next car, who pulls over to let him by. A plan is already formulating in my mind so I speed up to be behind the PU before the car can pull back into the lane. The truck is now on the bumper of the next, and last , car ahead of him. At this point we are going over a bridge so the car in front of him can't pull over. At the end of the bridge is a 4 way stop sign and then about a three mile stretch of lonesome 2 lane black top with no side streets. At the stop sign the truck doesn't even stop as he rolls through the intersection about 6 inches off the bumper of the lone car ahead of him. Clearing the intersection, the car pulls onto the shoulder of the road to let the Road Hog by and eliminate the blinding lights in his mirrors. As the truck clears the car we are doing about 20mph, I shift into 2nd, figuring I'm not going to need much torque for what I have in mind, but some legs will be nice, and pull up beside the ill mannered beast. I hear his foot go to the floor and I match his speed, side by side, up to about 50, at which point I slam my right foot through the fire wall and wait for third gear to beckon. When the adrenline induced fog lifted a few seconds later I glanced down to see 110 on my dash, and up, to see the afore mentioned headlights 1/8 of mile behind me. When I reached the next intersection I waited for him to catch up. When he did, he stopped a respectable distance behind me and proceeded to follow me at an appropriate distance until we reached his turn off point.
Now I know a big block four wheel drive pick up is not a worthy opponent, and I won't be painting his picture on my left front fender. But 99.99% of the time you see a Road Bully in action, there's not a damn thing you can do about it accept to picture him drooling in his oatmeal after rolling up his weapon of choice by missing a corner at 90mph. Last night I got the chance to say "hey, you're an a$$hole".
For any safety monitors reading this, be advised this all happened on a closed circuit with emergency personel in attendance.

In my old 88S4 - I was once "humbled" by a 4wheel Diesel - The plate said
1FSTDSL.

In which it was. I couldnt gain any ground on this SOB no matter how hard I tried. - And in turn - he couldn't gain on me as well (Lets just say - we went at it a few times from 60 mph up)

If I hard more room to stretch my legs - I would of had him but...there is always someone faster and quicker......it just suck to be the "victim"

LOL

I went up against a guy with a turbo cummings diesel. Plate said BLWNSMK... and he was, but after 60 is was not even a contest. This was before the supercharger. Wouldn't mind a rematch now... sucka!

I am still wiping the humble pie from my face from this past week during a morning commute. Some no-neck in a... um, lesser vehicle, rode my bumper until we were set to head on to the freeway. We're waiting at the light and there's a pickup truck in front of me. The light turns green and off we go. I make the critical mistake of thinking that the pickup will stay to the right as we merge onto 94. Nope, he heads right into the middle tollway lane and before I can get back to the right, good ol' Mr. BackBumper has floored it past me.

I never caught him.

And so, as it is, I must come forward and acknowledge that at 08:00 on Monday, November 27, 2006, I got smoked by a Chrysler Pacifica.

Hey Chicago, that 'picked the wrong lane' $hit happened to Michael Shoemaker a 1/2 dozen times this year and he still won the championship. We're gonna consider you still in the running.

You just got a lesson in the power of torque. That's part of why I believe that turbo diesel engines have a future in sports cars. Power isn't everything...

Andrew, I was gonna reference Jimmy Johnson, but I was afraid no one would know who I was talking about.
