aftermarket rims... will they fit?
this guy sells some sharp looking wheels on ebay:
ebay wheels
He states that the 10" rears can be ordered in a 60mm offset.
So my thought was to get 4 of the 10" rims with the 60mm offset and put 235 rubber in front and 295 in the rear.
Would that work?
Would it look good?

I looked at those wheel stoo. Very nice!
The 50MM front offset isn't ideal from a handling perspective, but will fit fine.
The rear 60MM ofset will should also be fine. You'll be close to rubbing on the inside, but I think it'll be fine as long as you don't go beyond a 295 (which is the widest I think you can go with a 10" rim). If it does rub on the inside, you can correct it with a thin spacer.
That said, I think the 48MM version would also "work" but would require some rolling/minor flaring.

Woops just saw you're thinking of 4 10" rims. Sweet!
Fronts should fit with the 60mm offsets, but I think you'd have to go with a 245 or maybe a 255 to get it to seal correctly on a 10" rim. YMMV!

I did some research, and found that 10" rims can take 215 to 290 with 255 being optimal.
You think the 10" with a 60 mm offset would be good for the front?
In the rear it should be easy to work witha spcer to get the rim out to fit perfect.
Anyone using 10" in the front without flares?
How would it look with equal width rims vs. the normal stagered look?

10" in front with a 60mm offset would end up sticking out quite a bit....the inner clearance would go down by 33mm and the outside wouls stick out an extra 43mm (1.7")

I was looking at those wheels too. Very nice looking. Post and let us know if the quality is good, the price seems very low. Also, can you get Porsche center caps?
I wonder what they weigh?
I have 9" rims with 235's on the front now and they stick out as far as I would want, anything more would probably throw a mess of crap up on the fenders and rocker panels. But 10" would probably look cool.

So what would be better for the front?
The 8x18 48mm ET or the 10x18 60mm ET?
Iceman, are you saying they will stick out 1.7" over the fender?

Can't comment on a 10" rim up front, but I've a set of 8.5x17et56 and 10x17et61 Oz split rims fitted with 235/45 and 265/40 tyres for my (euro) '84. They're quite a snug fit but I don't seem to have any clearance problems.

Not to mention the rim protector portion of some tires is not figured into the size ratio.

Have Kumho SPT 245/45/17 and 275/40/17 on 8" and 9" rims.
56mm offset on the 8" with inboard rub issues at near full lock.
Then I put front wheel side by side with back wheel.
The same rolling diameter rated tires are not.
The 245/45/17 is nearly 1/4" taller than the rear tire.
Can't trust the specs. Hope batch to batch they will be consistent size wise.
Damn tires won't wear away so I can replace the fronts.

I am considering selling a nearly new set of Kinesis 3 piece Super Cup wheels that are currently on an '89 GT and fit perfectly without the rear spacers. The wheels look identical to the one's Chuck Z has or had on his blue GTS that he had the centers of the wheels painted blue to match the color of the car, but are a far superior brand of wheel. They are all silver with the polished outer rim. They cost $6000 new.
If I decide to sell them, they would come with a brand new set of Bridgestone Potenza S02's.
The fronts are 18 X 9 and hold a 265/35 tire. The rears are 18 X 10 and hold a 285/30 tire.
If anyone's interested, please PM me your regular e-mail address so that I can attach pictures of the wheels on the car. We'll talk price later................
