Default To our European colleagues: Club Sport wheel question

I have become more than a little irrationally fixated on getting a set of Club Sport wheels for my GT. I know, I know, mine's the wrong year for CS wheels, but sometimes you just have to have something.....

So- what I REALLY want is a set of the forged 8 and 9 inch Club Sport wheels with the RDK sensors from Europe, as discussed in this thread. SO- the question is, do these ever become available on the european Ebay sites, or in Porsche club classifieds? I'm sure between buying and shipping them one would be looking at $2-3+K IF there was a set to be had, but I have family friends in Germnay and Belgium who could expedite with the shipping part of the equation.

Am I dreaming here?

CS 928s are very rare, as you know. If you also search for wheels for the uk version of the CS the "SE" they have the same wheels as the CS AFIAK

There were 42 SE imported to the uk. Some of them have been written off, so there should be some wheels around that someone might part with.

CS never got RDK from the factory. I know the whereabout s of a set of CS wheels but they will need refurbishment. I am seeing the guy on Tuesday - do you want me to ask?

Are 951S wheels identical? IIRC correctly they are the same dimensions (16x8" + 16x9").

951 fronts are 7x16" IIRR. Rears are same but no RDK in them either. There were only few 100 cars made with these wheels. Luckily more than half of the sets should have RDK sensors as '89 ROW GT is most common model where they were used. I know one set which is for sale in Germany. Bit pricey though as car is included.

Just to make sure, you mean '88 SE?

ROW '89 Club Sport and GT had RDK as standard with CS wheels, ROW '89 S4 had it as option M482 in 7" and 8" flat disks. I have never heard '89 S4 which has it. Must have been very expensive option.

Rob, you could just have a machine shop bore tapered holes in a set of normal CS wheels, then run all four front sensors in them (36 psi) because the rear 44 psi sensors are too much air.
BTW, I run about 32 psi in my 17" and wouldn't want 36 psi sensors anyway. The RDK obviously didn't start in the US until '90.

The turbo S wheels are not the same as the 1989 951 wheels IIRC.

Cant you make your own set of 8" ( not 9") CS/SE wheels by cutting out the extra holes ? . they are already marked on the back of the standard flat 928 wheels , so you could end up with 4 x 8" quite cheaply.

I have a set of the Turbo S wheels, which came off a crashed 1 German owner 944 Turbo S and they most certainly are 7" x 16". The only difference to normal 944 wheels is that these are forged and not cast like the D90s
