"Upgrading" would be to go from a single disk to the double disk.

After removing mine 20ish times over a two month period, I have to agree. You only drop it on your head once.

Switching from a dual to a single disk setup is a downgrade. The dual disk can hold a lot more torque than a single.

pcar history
84 928 5spd- first pcar, and my introduction into wallet vs proper maint. (or, how I learned to take an *** mounting from mechanic w/grace) I used to go out and start it up just to hear that V8 burble
1981 911SC-salvage title- great car, drove the hell out of it first year, treated my wallet well, 30K on odo first year sold it to buy 4runner (dumbass. runner could climb a wall in 4x4, couldnt pass a fart w/out 5 miles of open road) Plate:RVITUP
86 951/no mods- ....all-in-all, a good beast.Plate: RVITUP
89 951-what a monster, one owner car that looked and drove like it was factory fresh, purchased it thru Jones Autowerks (sent another 951 there for a PPI, Kathy told me to take a pass on it, and told me she had a cust. yada yada next thing I know Ive shot my budget all to hell but all the happier for it...) long story short GURU chip, sold it to invest in a bar (dont even ask it still makes my *** hurt)
Plate: YASGOOT
Now: nothing, except the dire need to fill the Pcar drug. Late nights tossing and turning, constant ebay/autotrader gwaking, countless emails and a climbing PPI bill...grunting and squeaking over budget and model.....why couldnt I love a nice....toyota...ugh.

As far as the Pcar drug addiction, the 928 has a very high rate of "falling back into the habit".

The bright red leather is fairly rare, and if PPI checks out that price is very good for an 86.5 5-speed.

I noticed that black/red 928 about 6 months ago at the same place. I'm not sure if that means anything, but they've been trying to sell that one for a long long time. Still, it looks great.
