No, if the tach is bouncing, that that idicates the flywheel speed sensor, and EZF systems are working OK.

You have also proved now that the LH ECU fuel pump drive circuits are faulty...... can be repaired.

Check with 928 International (a Rennlist sponsor in SoCal), as they have exchange
LH control units. As mentioned previously, have your LH unit tested before assuming
that it's bad and wasting money on an unnecessary expense.

Thanks everyone! I just happened to have a newly rebuilt spare LH laying around. When I was reanimating the 5 speed, it was determined that the Lh was bad. I bought another but it was bad also. I had both sent to be rebuilt and thus had a spare.

I finally got around to replacing the LH today. I popped in a relay and wonder of all wonders, the stepson started without a jumpered fuel pump. HOORAY!

Thanks again to everyone who contributed ideas and knowledge to solve the problem.

Yea I was there, when stepson fired up without the jumper, John was dancing around like a little girl being attacked by bee's, Ive got to say, the Porsche Gods were smiling upon us today, as my front suspension is finally right as well. Than to finish off the day we went for a little fun run in the old girls, it was a pretty good day.
