Default Special tool 9134 (SF Bay Area) + Emission numbers for '80 Euro

Hi Guys,

I've been busy with work to fund my addiction, but I finally got around to putting the cats & exhaust onto my '80 Euro. Here are the emission numbers at idle:

HC: 290 ppm
CO: 4.4%
CO2: 11.2%
NO: 65 ppm
O2: 1.6%

Not too shabby for a 26-year old car and a 21-year old catalytic converter (which is probably just an exhaust restrictor at this point), but as you can see, it's running a bit rich. So does anyone out there in the Bay Area have Special Tool 9134? Too bad Devek moved away - They were just down the street from me.

I work in San Carlos, and live not too far from there, so if anyone has it and could bring it to the dash install, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Foz:

Are you the guy getting the dash install? Excellent. You are certainly going whole hog on your resto.

I believe I have a substitute tool for 9134. Let me check tonight.

Hi Bill,

No, I just work in San Carlos -- I'm not the guy getting the dash install.

We met at Devek Days & Ron's TB install party.

If you could loan me the tool for a few hours during the dash install, that would be much appreciated!

Erkka - yes, it's common, but you need a long one to reach.

My recollection on my 79 is it needs to be longer than that. If you remove the filter box, I guess not.

Picture is just sample to show what I mean. One we use is longer but similar in other ways.

Take the correct size allan key ( help - I forget ... it's ~2.5mm), cut the long end off, and drive it into the end of a length of steel brake line tube - say 14" - 15". Hammer the angled piece into the other end to make an 'hour hand', so you can count the fractions of a turn when adjusting.
Note that I said 'fractions' .... the adjustment is sensitive
I can measure the key size later if no one knows offhand.

Its 3mm I think. Better check it before taking hacksaw out.

I think Carl at 928 Motorsport has these for about $11.00. It's hardly worth the trouble to make one at that price.
