Default What are these wheels?

They look like phone dials at first glance but are somehow different.
Anyone recognise them? Part number is 928.361.019.00

15" phone dials that came on early 928s and automatics. Jeez, Roger. You were asleep in class that day!

I know there's a joke about 'slow' people driving automatics around here somewhere...

those above are what I call 'flat' phone dials, the 'true' phone dials are shown below, which were made in 15x7, 16x7, 16x8 in varying offsets....

15x7" phones were used in automatic 928 in between maybe '79 and '82. All other 4.5L had 16x7" phones while most ROW S and all US Competition group cars had 16x7" flat disks. Some ROW S came with 16x7" phones but that was no cost option AFAIK.

Chuck's green '78 US a/t had the 15" phone dials. My own '78 US 5 speed had the normal 16" phone dials.
They did it partially because they thought the 16" lower profile tires gave a harsh ride. Other people would know more about this.
I am not making any a/t jokes, and the short time I had the '82 Weissach a/t proved to me how nice even the 3 speed a/t was.
p.s. the above pics are some 944 phone dials that had a quite different offset than the 928's 7"x16 65et.

H: are you saying the 15" phone dials in the first pic are not Porsche wheels? Would someone back me up here?
The day I sell the 928 and am found in a minivan I will start smoking crack and anything else that will give me flashbacks to driving the 928.

They were on my '81 (10 80), and I dumped mine.
