Replace MAF screen?

why? if you have one, that certainly is enough. just put a screen on the rear of the MAF and you are done. its a hp robber anyway. the filter should be doing its job and not letting things past it anyway.

The screens are held with a large wire circlip which are easily removed.
Some people like Mark like to take one or both screens off, but for safety, and the best chance of a good flow througth the sensors, then fit the top one and leave the bottom one off.

You guys really think it disrupts airflow that much that its worth removing?
I have to agree theres not much use for it, but i think its there mainly for handling when its removed, which ideally it should never need to be removed. I think removing the bottom screen is fine, dont see why it would be needed really, but do we all really think it will make a difference on airflow into the manifold?

I think there are more significant restrictions in the inlet system than the MAF.
The screens are there is to try and smooth out the airflow over the sensors inside the MAF. That's why I suggest that if you really want to remove one, then remove the lower one.
