Default 85-86 Anyone have their Intake Tubes Removed?

Can someone post a pic showing where the wire and connector for the Temp 1 sensor (under the air cleaner) comes from. Is it tied into another harness? I'm trying to get a feel for where to start looking.

IIRC, it comes out of the same part of the injector harness as the MAF. AMP 2 pin connector like injectors.

Edited to add: 84 Euro picture, but the harnesses are very similar. It's the white connector below and to the right of the fuel cooler. The MAF connector is in the valley and the crank sensor connector is the between the MAF connector and the remaining intake tube.

Mine is the same as Matts' and ties into the harness at the same place.

When you extended the harness for the maf perhaps it lost down next to the passenger side cam cover...

Probably a dumb question, but what's this "PET" thing.

PET = Porsche Electronic Teilecatalog or close to it. Darien's picture is from executable software version. PDF is other option. Do archive search.

yup, that's exactly right! Try not to mix up the temp connector with the last injector cause it will make the engine only run on 7 cyl. I made this mistake when I first put the engine together 5 years ago.

So you guys are telling me I'm running on 7cyls and have the wrong connector plugged into my air box sensor??

Damn...

But hey cool, that means the 281rwhp should go up when I fix this....

Or my connector was changed to what I have now at some point by the PO, the pic I posted above shows the connector, and that is the connector that has always been hooked to the air box sensor. What color is it supposed to be??

No no, I’m not saying that. What I meant that during assembly one can easily mix up the two connectors. If you did, you’ll know when the engine only runs on 7 cylinder. It will shake quiet a bit under heavy acceleration. If I remember correctly the temps is a white one and the injectors are dark, maybe brown or blue. Have a quick look and compare the last injector connector with the other ones.

At 281RWHP, you are proably running on all 8 cyl.

The air temp is white, the two 3-wire/pin connectors out of that harness are for the crank trigger & the air-idle control motor. All 4 injectors on the end of the driver's side harness & within a larger, loomed harness: where the injector part of the harness is further downstream by 8-10" from the split where the air temp, crank trigger, MAF, 2 grounds, & air-idle control connectors separate.
