how do I tell if I have Full Leather interior?
My warranty book is missing the card for options and paint code, and the rear sticker is not visible.
I have a leather dash, center console, arm rests with nice stitching, and rear seats transmission hump cover are leather as well. The rear side panels by the seats feel more leather than vinyl, and the panels in the "trunk" I had always assumed were vinyl, but then I just noticed it has the same stitching on it as everything in the front.
Also, has anyone added a rear console to a car that was originally non-console? I had one tear in it that was pretty large, and I got a great deal on a leather one in Cork which I'm recoloring my interior.
THANKS!!!!

If your dashboard has stitches then you have the leather package. Nearly all Porsche's had leather seats. The leather package generally means that the dashboard, door panels, and rear quarter panels are all leather. Porsche will build you anything you want, but generally the only "options" for the leather interior treatment [about $3000 in 1985] was a leather cover for the dash pod.
Porsche will do anything you want- if you want a different color, just say so- your wallet gets thinner. Want leather buttons on your pod? Wallet thinner.
Want a leather oil drain plug? Good lord! Just say so, they'll be happy to do it for you!
-You get the idea. 928's were basically hand-built cars, and it is not uncommon to find a car with odd options and/or parts. Do you have a picture of your interior?

First tell us what year your car is. Then we can tell you precisely where to look. The hint with the sun visors is a great start - vinly visors have a seam all around, leather have a zipper at the top/front.
Leather packages changed throughout the years, but full leather - meaning including the dash - were extremely rare on 87+ models in the US.

My car is an '81 US spec. The dash, steering wheel, doors (front sears have zippers), and console have seams with thread, as well as the trans hump cover and the rear pillars. The top of the door panel where the speakers are I'm pretty certain is vinyl. I'm going to go check sun visors.
Thanks!

At the age of your car it is possible, that it had some "plastic" surgery in the true sense of the word. Someone might have replaced the leather upper door panels with vinyl after the original leather shrunk...

I've searched everywhere possible and can't find the correct color for the interior in my '90. I believe the code is 'NK'. Anyone know what the correct color would be (it's some shade of gray)?

Nicole, that's an interesting thought. The original owner was a director and artist, and he told me he changed the outside from Platinum Metallic to White, so he might have had that fixed as well. The paint job was very thorough, even shot the transmission tunnel that's exposed when one removes the shifter assembly. Towards the end, as they got older, the fixes for the car appearance became more half-assed; the rear carpet was shot from the sun, so the wife had carpet installers who happened to be there putting house carpet in, to cut a remnant the correct size. Mechanically they didn't skimp as my reciepts show, but appearance stuff did.
Does anyone remember that 70's movie, "Free to be You and me" with NFL player Rosie Grier singing, and Micheal Jackson singing "I'm never going to grow up!!!" LOL, the OO/PO was the director of that movie.

I think first question to sort out is, what is definition of full leather? AFAIK there isn't definitive answer to this. Early cars had less possible options than last ones. Does definition change for different MY? In later years there were dozens of individual parts which could be covered with leather. Some cars had dash and center console but very few had pod. Having all three and some other large parts done in leather was just a start.
