I've been spending some time today cleaning up bulb sockets and replacing my tail lamp bulbs. I've been getting the Tail Lamp warning without any bulbs being burned out.
Question: Should all of the bulbs in the tail light assemblies be the same - reverse, brake, tail lamp signal all 1156's?
When I removed the tail light lense all bulbs were 1156's except the tail lamp. A different size (smaller than 1156) was installed here in both assemblies.

They should not all be the same. I'm not sure what the exact bulbs are for the early models but brake lamps, turn sitgnals, reversing lamps and foglamps are usually 21W while marker lamps are usualy 4-5W

Thanks guys. Cleaned everything up installec new bulbs and tail lamp warning is 86'ed. Seems to have been a rear side marker causing the problem.
