well isn't this nice to know ???2. Porsche 928: I know, having a 928 on this list might seem a bit crazy, but these cars have been getting a lot of press recently and have been creeping up in price. It used to be that you could get an early, single-cam car in great condition for $5000. Those same cars are now selling for as much as $10k, with the later quad-cam and GTS models holding in the $30s. This is one of the best GT cars of its time that offers a modern driving experience and performance equal to many exotics.

Thats the good part about insurance....its cheap on 928's....I pay about $25 a month for full coverage in a high car theft area of CA!! My saturn and acura cost way more to insure!

What does not seem to be true is that high prices for low mileage perfect condition 95 GTS is trickling down to any older models. Its the second man on the moon situation, if you want the "best" and thats typically the ONLY true collectible, its going to be that top .1%.
928 is primarily a DRIVER, not a car you keep in the garage to look pretty. In todays world anything less than $100k fits into many peoples toy budget, but VERY few 928 are in "toy" condition except for the very best of the latest model year cars.
$60k is a bargain compared to the cost of fully restoring a 928 professionally, and you don't have to wait 3 months to drive the car.

My S/C 94 GTS is still for sale... although my price reduction to 35k is now back up to 45k.
My need to sell is no longer an issue... however my reasons for selling are still there.
