If my own schedule permits, I will be more than happy to come up and lend a hand.

Paul

Sterling,

That's cool. You gotta respect someone who makes his own tools when they don't exist.

Hey, if we want to make this a national (or global) internet thing, should we start a new thread or change the name of this one?

Sterling - I was just thinking about a remote starter switch. Where do you connect it? What's the preferred method for turning the engine over without starting. Disconnect coil wires? I seem to recall unplugging the fuel pump relay or fuse and it started anyway (briefly) from the residual fuel pressure in the system.

I would love to come. I just checked the distance from Austin to Dallas and its a 3 hour drive, I would love to come lend a hand as well. I should be moved in TX by the end of the month. Great timing for me to meet up with all the TX 928 owners, seems like there are allot of you.

Yeah I am pretty sure i will be moving to Austin before the end of the month. Never been a fan of LA honestly, but in the last couple years have grown to dispise it for a variety of reasons. I am actually really excited to leave the San Fernando Valley and go someplace new.

Thank you so much for the offer to help, honestly i cant think of anything, at least not off the top of my head. I'm lucky enough to have some family friends in the moving business so that will obviously come in handy.

Ryan,
My company was in San Fernando and I had an apartment in Glendale for a couple of years.
Hated LA (just a personal opinion).

Doc,
Come on down.

Dan,
No problem on the retension - 30 mins max.

I'd be interested in having my car done at the same time and documented by web cam. However, this is not going to be just a timing belt job - we'll have to replace some gears in the process, and I'm wondering what to do about my whining alternator. Ideally, I'd like to have everything fixed while we are working on the front of the engine, but this might easily become a two day project.

Bill and I have to discuss this in more detail.

If we can work out the logistics it could be really cool. Should we change the name of the thread or create a new one in case anyone else wants to join but isn't looking because it's listed in Double Oak?
