Hey there! It's that time of the month when all the Detroit area 928ers (and the occasional other car owner) get together for our monthly beer/bitch/tech session... okay mostly beer/bitch.

I will be there this time after about 4-months of not making it. Big question is will the car be there. It's up on stands getting a new cltuch, oil pan gasket, and rod bearings.

Location is the same as always @ the Four Green Fields Pub in the strip mall on the SW corner of 13 Mile & Woodward (right next to the Secretary of State's office) in Royal Oak, MI.

Things usually start around 6:30ish and go until whenever.

Remember we have these get togethers on the second Thursday of every month, no matter the weather, so come on by.

How does that work out for you guys in the 'Motor City'. I heard they don't take too kindly to imports in those parts. Although I guess it's mostly directed at imports from small island countries instead of European ones .

Does anybody give you a hard time or is it more good natured ribbing like a football rivalry?

No issues unless you try to park a foreign car at one of the Big 3's parking lots. Those days of import bashing are long gone. And truthfully, the way the Big 3 have taken care of their flock, there is little allegiance anymore. Hell, at my company we WANT import business!

That's cool. The big three have done some interesting things in the past few years, but it seems like every time they take a step forward they take one or two back.

Anyway, sorry for the Hijack. Glad you can ride (and park) in peace out there as well as anywhere else. Wish I could join you.

I'm a little jealous about these regional groups. I haven't heard of one from Jersey, is there a group for us East Coasters anywhere near here?

I have a meeting in Novi that afternoon, I will try to make it afterwards. It would be nice to make it to one of these gatherings. I am not sure if I will bring the 928, depends on weather.

Looks like I am going to miss another one. Ever since school started the taxi service has been in tilt mode with the three boys. Something scheduled every night, and the weekends are just nuts. I have to be in four places at the same time next weekend. At least I can drive the 928 to some of the practices. Have one for me ...
