Default Need a Seat Switch for a '87 928

Lets try this again. I'm doing this officially now and have joined the great rennlist community.

I need a used 4-way seat switch (4 arrows on the round button) front-back and up-down motion for a '87 928 automatic.

In the process of fixing it, I broke the round ****. So if possible, all I really need just the **** part

You probably won't find a good used seat switch because it's a ****ty design and they all break where yours did. The "hat" part can't be replaced separately.

Buy a memory seat switch (it's half the cost of the others), and splice in the ends that you need.

Saw the post on the memory switch. I will try that. How hard is it to replace? Do you have to remove the seat?

There are probably reports of somebody doing a switch replacement with the seat in place, but I think it's almost impossible. The seats come out pretty easily, and the switches themselves aren't too tough.

Unless you are going to unsolder the old switch from the wire ends and solder in the new one, a neat trick if you can do it (not a lot of slack), you need to remove the seat as the harness is tie-wrapped and some of the plugs are inaccessible.

Sounds like I will just take it out. I'll do some leather reconditioning work at the same time.

Thanks for your input...
