Exclamation Extra Pair of hands needed in Glendale, CA asap (no dirty work)

Could anyone please help me? I'm about 5 hours into removing and replacing my autotransmission shift cable on my 1981 928. I have everything disconnected, but it keeps getting hung up. I'm convinced this is a two person job. I just need someone in the car to pull the cable while I guide it past the part it keeps getting hung up on.

I'm trying to get my car done by Monday, and this is keeping me from finishing the rest of the projects.

Thanks, if you can lend a hand for 15-20 minutes, I'll supply the ZIMA, just kidding, we all know ZIMA is worth several hours of work! I'm just off the 2 Verdugo or York exit. My phone # is 310-936-4993

Rolf,

I would love it if you could help, I have about 4 projects on it I'm wrapping up: Vac Hoses (done) (intake boots (1 of 8 so far), trans fluid & filter change (drained, new filter installed, just need to fill) Oil change (not done) trans cable of course.

GF's Infinit just got a new engine radiator and 2 days later it's overheating, so after 7 weeks on jackstands , and only driving from Sunset Plaza to Glendale, I'm ready to drive it.

I'll be happy to feed you, buy beer etc.

I know it is a little late but when I replaced my '81 cable after unhooking all I wrapped a wire on the shifter side before pulling out. When installing hooked new cable to it and pulled through. It is kinda tight at top of tunnel as I recall. Good luck on this.

Unfortunately, I am stuck in my own project ....I am removing the pod and dash at got stuck with a stripped hex. That is what I am working on tomorrow - otherwise I would have been able to stop by. Good luck with it.

If anyone needs help around LA, once I'm up and running, I'd be happy to lend a hand. 928 people are the best.

JoeJoe, the cable keeps getting hung somewhere around where the torque tube and converter come together.

Aj, where in LA do you live? What's your color combo on the car?
