Talking No mechanical problems to discuss - how about mirrors?

2750 miles from Seattle to Atlanta and a few trips around town and still no mechanical problems......yeah!!!

Found out that my dome light was burned out, not very expensive.

I guess I get to spend my time turning excellent into perfect.

Anyone know about changing mirrors to the more aero style like the ones on 993's? Mine have little rock and bug marks, just wondering who has done this mod, what the estimated expense is and what issues are involved.

Beautiful car, I was trying to get it together to buy it. Glad to see it's going to be appreciated. Mirrors conversion took me an afternoon, once they were painted. Get a kit from the big three or there's a guy on ebay that I purchased the complete kit with mirrors for $450. Painting cost me $150 at the BMW paint shop. The install is in several places, search the archives. I've copied all the pertinent info. PM me at your convenience. Ed M

The place that sells the complete painted mirrors is Motorsport in Utah..............search for Dave Lomas (ketchmi) on the 'List.

Lots of info on the install; if you don't find the one that uses the home made special tool look for it agin..........saves a lot of time and grief.

i like the basis of your post. I noticed too that when there is nothing wrong with my car i am bored! I like fixing things and when all is good then thats just no fun sometimes.

Thanks I'll do some searching...(I'm just lazy I guess)...I prefer to throw it out there ans see what sticks.

I figure if I have to do some painting (like the mirrors), I may go for a fg spoiler and have it painted along with the mirrors. Save the original as is just in case.
