I've been using Syntec 5w-50 in my Audi's for years, great stuff. I recently filled up the 81 928 with it since I plan on driving it off / on in the winter - salty roads permitting.

5w-50 is what we use in our formula engines. Amazing engine life-time under race enviroment, but we did no back-to-back test vs any other oil.
Needless to say I'm using it in the 928, too.

The more I think about it, not sure why I switch to 15w-50 in the summer when my non-Porsche cars run 5w-50 all year. Will be a lot easier to buy oil if every car is using the same weight.
Hell, I should look into a 50 gallon drum for my garage!
Considering I'll go through 10 gallons the first month of spring changing the oil on everything.....
