Porsche Cars North America who has access to ALL USA motor vehicle registration information based on the most recent information Oct 2004 showed 16,781 928s still in the US and registered odds are most of those are in running condition. Plus our customer list shows many thousands of cars MOST of whom probably are not on Rennlist ...So such a pole here is really meaningless. Our business continues just fine but thank you for the concern. We are the oldest ,the biggest , are licensed auto dismantelers; we were in business before any of the others and may well be in business after

In my case I wanted ever so much to indicate that it was "on the road" but given that it hasn't fired yet after a year plus in rehab I had to be one of the small minority Renlisters with a 928 that is "not on the the road". I hope to rectify this situation shortly as the last of the parts (famous last words) I need arrived this week.

Local sample makes me believe 10-20% of 928 population is under long term repair at any given time. Mot of these will eventually return back on road while others end up going under surgery. Some of these long term projects will obviously turn into parts cars after owners throw in towel during project. Also some parts cars will get new life back on road if and when prices rise.

You should have added 2 more to the poll “ Yes, Yes but broken down at the moment” and “ No, Yes but broken down at the moment”
Mine has a blown head gasket at the moment but it’s insured/registered and was driving it up until the gasket went in June.
