Request Parts Donation Thread
Some time ago there was a "free stuff, just pay the shipping" thread that seems to have fallen to the wayside.
Based on Nicole's suggestion in another thread, I thought maybe we collectively could pitch in and donate to some of our 928 brethren whose rides could use a little TLC, specifically cosmetically.
I'm paying the shipping on a shifter plate to RngTrtl and Nicole has offered up a demo shifter. Should be a big improvement for the guy.
No sooner had the offer been made than the "hey, what about me" comments started flowing in.
So at the risk of sounding like a voyeur slowing down to rubberneck at a car crash, post some pictures, tell your sob story, and appeal to the generosity of the community.
After all, we're already sharing a lot of technical know-how and donated labor, maybe we can take it to another level or at least add an additional dimension.

I think this is a great idea. Every once in a while I have something 928 related that I'd rather give to someone that needs it instead of selling or throwing it away. Maybe the thread can be stuck permanently at the top for easy access?

I’d love to have a new shifter and have a few items I’m willing to give up; such as, tweeter speaker rings with grills or a cv boot kit. How does this work???

I have a fan and fan clutch assembly (which has always been stored upright for what ever that is worth) and it still has the pulley on it from a 1985 US, 5.0L,32V,Auto that free to a good home. I am pretty sure that the clutch is still good, but I am not certain. I put an electric fan on it when I got a used (new to me) radiator, and the clutch and fan worked then.

I'm collecting some interior pieces for a future project (I want to paint some black pieces in my interior color classic grey). The pieces missing for this project are:
- all speaker grills that go on the rear quarter panel (for 90+ model cars)
- door handles
- door lock pin surrounds (the little rings attached to the door panel, that go around the locking pin)
None of these are urgent, but I'll need them when I get around to try this project. I don't want to use the exisiting pieces, in case it doesn't turn out as nice as expected...

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/141392-free-928-stuff.html
as for me, I need an 80-82 console/clock surround with single hole in excellant condition
I'll trade you for a functional round analog clock

Just as a thought....We should prolly set up a format like:

I need/have a blahblahblah.
Just a thought to keep it simple to read

Related to my 1979 928:
HAVE:
* passenger side power window motor. 8 tooth gear, 4 wire connectors.
NEED:
* AC Compressor relay
* Front dome light cover
* Drivers side power window switch (just the plastic cover, plain one ->without<- window symbols on them)
* screwdriver handle from the tool box
* 16/17 mm wrench from the tool box
* rear ashtray insert
* 1979 owner's manual
* Black door panels, driver's and passenger side. If I get these, my current ones will be available. They are in good shape but have holes cut for add-on tweeters. I want to get them back to stock. The driver's side has some broken fasteners. http://robbrandt.duckbox.org/index.p...wimage&iid=607

Brian,
I think it's a great idea. Is there any way a moderator can 'stick it to the top' like Joe said?
BTW- for my '85 5 spd
Have- used, cracked spark plug wires,
Need- everything else.
JK- If this gets formalized, I'll have some parts in both categories.
