Default 19" wheels on ebay

I hesitated about posting this, but I see so many posts from people asking about larger wheels. I understand the frustration having just been through it myself, and I'd like to contribute something to the forum.

Here's a set of wheels that have the same offsets and widths as the ones I put on my GTS. The only difference is that they are 19" instead of 18", which means that the tires would have to be even lower profile.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...AFSEL%3AUS%3A1

The information here is only for GTS owners, I don't know how these would work on others.

Besides very low profile tires, these would require a different spacer on the rears of about 13mm. I purchased 21mm spacers and had them machined down for my wheels to fit perfectly centered between the edge of the fender and the suspension arm.

The fronts will stick out just a bit more than the original ones, and under extreme turning, like spirited turning in a parking lot, I have heard the tires hit the front fender lip.

I also wanted to say that the Landsharkoz website on wheels has been very helpful.

Here's another set from the same seller that looks just like your current wheels but are 19s.

To me, wheels this big take some getting used to. They can make your car look like a Hot Wheels or Big Foot off-roader, but I just may be showing my age.

Price seems kind of high. When I was looking for wheels, they were usually $1200-1400 with tires. At Hershey they were $1100 ($1000 for the Boxster size) and the tires were so new that they still had release agent on them.

The rear wheels on this set have a very different offset than mine. Not sure how that would work with spacers. I mentioned the other ones because they had exactly the same offsets as mine, so I know they would work.

I absolutely love the look of my new wheels, and somehow I think I would love the 19's even more. But with the condition of the roads here in Maine, I'm pushing it with the 18's.

I actually picked a set of those up a month or two ago for my '89 S4. I felt that the old rims needed an update and boy was I right. I found that I fell in love with the car all over again and the stance in the rear is so mean looking! They are 19x8 in the front with 225/35, and 19x11 in the back with 275/30. On the back I used a 7mm spacer. They do fit but with little left for space. The rear rubs on the inside a little with the car full of adults. I would like to show you some pics but I dont know how to post.

That's a fab looking car, always like the black, what do you think the wheels would look like in charcoal?

Lookin good Jacob! After seeing how tight they were on my car, I'm always amazed when I hear that people have put 11" rears on a pre-GTS car. But many have without a problem. Apparently, the flares on a GTS don't really offer much more room, or as much as you might think.

Those are really schweeet looking Carrera 19's. The car looks very dignified
I just scored these from www.wheeldynamics.com
They will be going on a Black 86S.

I agree with the addition of GTS aero mirrors. The will make your car look 10 years newer.

Personally I like the "crab claws" 19" carrera S wheels...either you love'em or hate them......19's on a 928 is just a bit too much for me......but it still looks sweet!

i have 19x11 on the rear as well with a 25mm spacer. required major rolling and some flaring to get them to work as well as update my suspension, not sure you'll have to do that though, my old Boges were bouncing like basketballs.

So you are swapping them for the cup2 18" on your car? I think the cup2 18 look better.

yup.

The cup II's look good. They are only 17 inches though.
I like the TT hollow spokes in black better for my car. Not to mention they are 11 inches wide in the rear.
