English language ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...2509%26fvi%3D1

Babelfish translation of the original text:
This vehicle is probably the oldest 928er it still gives. The chassis No. reads 928,810 0020.

The car became 1977 first on Porsche in Stuttgart as test vehicle certified. Afterwards it changed into the possession of the running driver leakage shrubs. With this legend is to be assumed the vehicle will win above average, compared with other 928ern, at value.

In the last 10 years the car was moved only with red number or short time characteristic. The car is drivingready. An inspection, is possible after previous arrangement. Last HU/AU became in the Sept. 1995 accomplished. An inspection with Zahnriehmenwechsel, oil change etc. is very advisable.

Starting from the coming year, the vehicle with a h-characteristic can become certified, since it is already 30 years old then. This is very attractive for taxes and insurance with this vehicle.

I must deliver the vehicle for private reasons.

Since I the vehicle privately sell can I neither warranty nor guarantee take over. A return is not possible. The collection of the vehicle must be organisert within 10 days after auction end by the buyer. By bank credit transfer or in bar with collection eBay fees I pay payment first.

Much fun when offering!
Have you started the paperwork to import it?

Even with that ****ty translation it sounds like a scam. "Payment first, I must deliver". I would say, okay, I payment first, when I see car and papers. How about an inspection, then bid, then pay, then take, all at the same time?

maybe real, maybe not. I'm not bidding.

That translation is friggin hillareous! It was owned by a race car driver with the name of "Leckebusch" (this would be "licking bush")... I have no idea who that is, and why it would increase the value - particularly since it's not in original condition (S-Model Upgrades)

Payment is either per bank transfer ahead of pick-up, or cash on pick-up. Not sure why this would make it a scam. Bank transfer is a usual moe of payment in Germany; checks on the other hand are rather unusual, and a personal check could not be verified immediately at the time of pick-up. Even here in the US, you usually have to prepay before you get the goods you order...

I dont know about you, but adding the S spoilers and slapping a sticker on the back seems kinda silly. like me slapping an S4 sticker on my car. to each their own i guess....

I don't know what this means in German, but it sounds really cool in English.

Too bad about the spoilers.... It would be more interesting without them. I'm no expert on rub strips, but didn't they come later too?

I, too, believe they were not available from the very start - but I don't have any documentation on this. The oldest 928 I ever drove (Euro 78 #166) had them put on afterwards.

I think it has been for sale some time before already. Not sure if seller is same or not. S spoilers and other changes to later model look-a-likes are very common in Germany. In any case maybe worth restoring back to original.

August 10th first registration date is surprisingly late in '77. I would have expected it to be in May or thereabouts already. Don't know exactly how things worked back them if car remained at the factory. How long could they drive it on public roads without geting fahrzeugbrief and plates to it?

Didn't rub strips start around '81 MY?

I think they have some kind of deal where they can drive the car with temporary plates (I think this is what is meant by "red plates").

In the same way that repair garages can drive cars with their own garage plates. I assume that you have some similar system in the US?
