Default sometimes hard cold start

Hi guys after a year of ownership and the car always starting fine it has become a little reluctant and sometimes requires some accelerator. I have not noticed any hot start issues but I don't do many of those so who knows. Having read though the archives i have a smorgasboard of options and would like to narrow them down with your help. Options include:

fuel pumps
fuel check valve
Relay/fuse/grounds
An injector
Temp sensor
MAF
ECU?

As far as I know all of the above have not been replaced since new.

What's your guess and where should I start? (pun intended)

thanks

Jason

I would start with the fuel check valve! When you go out to start your car, bump the starter a few times (without letting it start), this will allow the fuel pump to run enough to help build fuel pressure. Then attempt to start the car, if it then starts as intended, then I would replace the fuel check valve (I think around $30). Just my 2 cents.

Good advice from Chris. Temp sensor would be my next guess. Once it starts, does it seem to be running rich for the first couple minutes? If not, that would point to the temp sensor.

Check Tony's 'what is it' under the bonnet at http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/underthe.htm , locate temp2 sensor. Pull the connector (carefully, trick to opening the wire clip) and see if starting behaviour changes. If NOT, Sensor should not be the problem. This sensor should read ~3k ohms cold, <300 ohms hot. If it starts cold disconnected, it should go rich and stumble as it warms - reconnect lead to sensor, and if it now runs fine, sensor is gone.
