One question, part of the appeal, value of this car is its orginality. Other than the radio, I think it is 100% stock.

What performance mods would you consider that can easily be reversed and provide a worthwhile improvement to the vehicle? Or just leave it and drive it.

2nd to last 5 speed...very nice!! Its good to know it will have a rennlister as an owner who will take care of it!! Sure it was a bit on the pricey side...but for a low mileage excellent condition 95 GTS......I think it is fair! IF you want to sell it say in a few years......I call first "dibs" :>) It would look real nice in the garage next to my S4!!

I don 't think he overpaid. where else are you going to find something like that with those miles? I know of a blk/blk 95 5 speed with about 26k, I think it can be had for $60. The pearlwhite one went for over 60. I think there is another red/tan advertised on autotrader or the registry for $58k. That seems to be where the market is.

No 133 it is. The only thing that has changed is it now has PS2's on it. Amazing how many rennlisters known about this car.

First off, unless your the one that took out the original radio and still have it on hand, buy another one and have it on standby in case you ever do (God forbid), decide to sell it someday.

Secondly, an RBM rear muffler bypass is a must! It actually repalces the original rear muffler, but still looks identical (twin black tips, etc.). There is absolutely no welding involved at all, and just bolts right on to where the original muffler was unbolted. Approx. time.......20-30 minutes.

It will give the car a much more agressive sound (like it should have sounded originally) and adds somewhere like 5-10 additional H.P. A must have item!

Other than that, you'd be getting into some rather extensive upgrades, which I think your trying to avoid.

Just call 928 Intl. or 928 Specialists, and order your RBM in black (not chrome please!). You'll thank me later.

I agree with Todd on the RMB, it is a must. One more thing I recommend to go along with the PS2's (great tire,I have the same) is the 928 specialists sways set at middle setting. Makes for a far better handling car and is easily reversable. I also recommend the Short Shift kit. Again easily reversable and makes for a much better shifting car. Other than that these cars need nothing but love and attention along with a nice open road.

The GTS is one of the few Porsche's that I have owned that needed very little to make it car I felt perfectly comfortable with.

BTW I noticed the side panels at the bottom of your Cashmere seats are in black. Is this common? Mine are color matched to the seats. Does anyone know why Porsche changes these things sometimes?

Black part was used when seat color was outside 5 or 6 basic colors for the period. Porsche did 10 to 12 different color seats at any given year but didn't feel like making all smaller parts in each of these colors. Instead they used (usually) black. In many cars dash and center console is black while seats and small piece above door armrest is seat color.

Besides black they did almost all interior parts with other basic 4 or 5 colors for the year. Dash, center console etc. were all made in matching color using same material as black parts used. These are not to be confuced with full leather interior which could use same colors or if customer wanted to, just about any color.

My 93 has Black dash and console, Cashmere seat pieces yet the panels above the arm rest are Black. They also made an interesting custom arm rest/phone mount in matching leather. Most other Cashmere interiors I have seen have the Cashmere door panels and black cassette box.

Cashmere is a pretty common color interior. One might presume that being one of the last cars made they might have run short on pieces and used the extra stock of black pieces in the bins. Sounds like something Porsche would do.

I think you hit the nail on the head....the appeal and the value is in the originality...that`s why i have left mine all stock,right down to the original oil fill sticker from the factory!

All 928s from 91 onwards have the door panel insert to match the rest of the door panel. It really cleans up the look...

That was a special oprion phone console. $$$

The door inserts for cars with leather interior wre always in leather. Why would the factory run out of cashmere leather for the door inserts but not for the seats? Makes no sense... Remember they have their own upholstery shop in-house and do all these things there.

I personally saw the car at Wilhoits indoor lot. That was about the price he was asking IIRC, nice car, low mile, was not super heavy optioned....but the Amazon Green that Cobalt bought was a steal compared to the price he wanted for the same car basically...the Amazon might not have been as clean of a car at the time, nor had as good of history in its past, but but for have the $ it made it look awful good!.. on paper anyway.
