Default Carrera S 19 wheel offsets for 928

Does anyone know if the 19 inch Carrera S wheel with +57 front and +67 rear offsets fit on 85/86 928's ?
The rear wheel is 11 inches wide.

Thanks Rich

You will probably need to "massage" the rear fender lips a bit but they can fit.

Dave,

thanks.
How is the rear fender messaged?.
These are the oem 19's take offs. Have you installed them on 86 before?

Thanks Rich

The lip will have to be rolled and the fenders flared around 1/4". I have put 11" rears with a 65mm offset on and with 295/35/18" they fit quite well. I was looking at exactly those same wheels for my 86.5' but with the centers painted black. The fronts should fit with no problem, just be careful to limit the total tire height.

Dave, are you sure about that? Tony Harkin's 11" wide 45mm offset wheels with 295 wide tires fit. The 67mm offset wheels will sit inboard by 22mm. If anything, I think Rich might need a spacer to move them out.

BTW, great wheel choice.

Gemballa LeMans is my second choice.

Which offset works in 18 inches?

9x18 et 52
10x18 et 52
11x18 et 65

Thanks Rich

I think the 19" Carrera S wheels look great on the 928.

They are also cheap as factory take-offs ($1100-1200).

Very tempting!

Rayn, I think that they been refered to as "lobster claw" wheels.

Cheers,
Michael

actually i do like the way those look honestly, not sure if its the fact that they are just massive 19"ers but those look pretty good on the car. I never cared for them on the 997's

I think though if your going to get take off's get them with tires, those 19" tires are $300 a pop, and typically the difference in wheels to wheels and tires is probably $500 and typically take offs come off imediately and thus have like new tires.

Thanks for that pic, i do like those wheels now

The Gemballa LeMans or the Crab Claws? I already have a set of 997 Carrera wheels for one of the sharks, need a different set for the other. The Gemballa LeMans wheels are exactly what I'm looking for.

EDIT - found two on ebay. Well, another item to sneak past the wife....

The higher the better (in front) but a stock car will not hold an 11x18 in the front so et52 will have to do. I have 9x17 et52 on one of my 928's right now - it works.

I'll probably put the 10x18 on the front of my track car with these wheels. I'm installing a set of S4 upper control arms to give my car more negative camber. This will help with the clearance issue of a 10" et52 wheel in the front. On a street car I'm not sure this would work out so well.

I also like the look of the "crab claws" on 928's.......the front will fit perfect with a 235/40 (same offset as my 18" CIII's) & the rear will fit with a touch of fender rolling! 295-305 19" rears would look really good too!
