Default I spotted a Porsche today!!!!!!!!!

That’s right - a Porsche (any Porsche) . That may not be a big thing for some of you. But around here where I live, I think this is a first. It was a 86 944, I stopped and talked with the owner then he came to my house to see my car. turns out he had the car for a while and lives in the next town. I told him about rennlist. I also know of a old and probably not running 914 in a garage in the next town to the west of me. Its been there for at least 5 years and has garage debris all over it - its kind of like the old dream of finding an old Porsche in an old Kansas garage that the owner "put away" some time ago.

sorry for the rambling - just had to share...

Frank

Where's the 928 content? A 944 is only halfway there....

Frank,

Be careful. Word has it that the 914 is located in the garage of Elvira Gulch's old place. But if you get close enough, see if you can see her bicycle...

Maybe, maybe not... Either is a damn reliable car if maintained. Change one clutch on the 944 though, and you've more than made up for any difference...

Hello TV

Owing a 928 here ???-- No one around to work on them (biggest prob), people know the name but don't know the car, People ask "is that a Ferrari(sp?)? - Is that a BMW?, Joking - I told one guy it was a Dodge Neon and I put Porsche badges on it and for a moment I thought he believed me.

Nice Roads??--Typical country town. county dirt roads(don't travel those in the p car) lots of good highways, sparsely populated and not a lot of Law enforcement people - V1 would be nice though. closest large town is 42 miles away, Goodland, Kansas Pop. about 5k. sometimes you can drive to that town 42 miles away and not see anyone on the road. Very easy to go too fast......

Emission testing??? - no such thing here, no inspections - nothing. some of the cars on the road here really shouldn't be. tractors and farm machinery on the road a lot.

Insurance?? - same as most - I have ins. through Hagerty I think (one of those)

Frank, I'm just yanking your chain a bit... but one of the moderators does come through here regularly, moving threads that have no 928 content(or otherwise violate TOS) to places you might not be able to get to as a non-member...
