I'm having some very cool 928 stickers made up for your rear windows - who wants one?

Why Normy has never messed with a 911:
-My roomate in Euless, Texas [Dallas] in 1996 had an '85 911. We were both commuter airline pilots, and lived in the "pink palace" next to the American Airlines training center.
I met him while he tore out the blower on his 911; He liked my Corrado VR6, and as soon as the 911 was whole again, I was handed some keys. Wow! That car was amazing, basically my Corrado but amplified about 10 percent. It had wild cams- it felt like my current 928S2, with a torque curve hugely humped. It's rear-engine handling characteristics scared me so I never considered buying off him. I always prefered the 928 anyway.
I was sitting in my room reading a book one night in April 1996 when the phone rang. Carl had a cell phone, one of the few back then, and wanted my assistence. Apparently, he'd gotten drunk and while driving home, had attempted to take a 90 degree corner at 80 mph in said '85 911. It didn't work, he spun out, went over the curb and destroyed both rear spindles! He was scared to death, and wanted me to come pull him home. He was about 1/2 mile from me, so I took the Corrado over there with a length of rope and found him crying on the grass!
Well, to make a long story short, I can tell you that the VR6 engine doesn't mind dragging a car down the road. And the 911 doesn't roll so well with both rear tires spayed at a slightly odd angle! Carl sobered up the next morning [actually...afternoon~ urk!] and though I'm not his dad...we had a talk. He refers to the incident as the "$800 bottle of vodka", which is what it cost him to get the car repaired. He's since quit drinking; I think that's a good thing.
Crazy Carl aside...I'm scared of the odd handling characteristics of the 911. I want a car that is fool-proof for my untrained driving skills, and the 928 is perfect.

Everybody knows I am a huge Porsche fan, which fixation focuses on 928 but I'm also a 911 fan among others. To me ... if you want to give a 911 owner a subtle dig from a FEWC (front-engined Porsche) perspective, here's what you should stick to your bumper ... it's from Pelican's site.

I'm sure 911 owners will tell you there is no need to open the rear lid and work on the engine in a 911 because it is so reliable and durable - but you may need to pop the front hood to work on the CD changer or change the battery.

Actually Flott, as a 911 owner myself, I know that 911's require just as much wrenching and are just as fun in this regard. Maybe more, because valves need to be tuned etc also. Not a lot is automatic on a 911.

I know, I was speaking a little tongue-in-cheek there.
Man, I don't miss doing valve adjustments from my days as a Z owner! It was one of those tasks that you always felt you could get just a little bit more accurate and on and on it went . . .

BUMP.....
Sorry about the dealy. I just talked to my printing guy about this project. He will have a proof to me within a few days of me sending the image.
Question I need answered
The area inside of the red circle around the car:
1. Solid color like the picture shows
2. Clear, cut out around the car
I'm having a sheet of these made up for myself, I'll post pics once they are printed. They should be cheap.

The danger is that the market for these extends well beyond the non-911 Porsche community. Think how good we will all feel when they show up on clapped-out Chevy Malibu's and the like.
Tread really lightly with them on the P-cars too. There's enough perceived discord among the various ownr factions as it is. This is hardly a way to promote harmony in the ranks. My 2 sense.

So I guess you don't want the giant banner I'm making either?

I'm in Hacker (Enzo?). I like the cut out idea so it has some contrast, but either way is fine.
Can we somehow add the venerable term "***-Dragger" to this context somehow?
