I'm having some very cool 928 stickers made up for your rear windows - who wants one?

I'll probably be flamed, but I just don't see the purpose or the humor in this. Without the
911 (and 356 of course) the 928 would never have existed because the company that produced
it would never have existed. It's kind of like putting a "No" sign over a picture of your mother
or father. Where is the humor in that? If someone is really into Porsche, why wouldn't they
respect its historical roots. ... OK, flame my ***...I can take it.

Joe,
I must respectfully disagree with your analogy. Putting a "no" sign over Ferdinand Porsche would be like putting a "no" sign over your mother or father. The 356 or 911 are not the "mother" or "father" of the 928. I see them more as older "siblings". Give them their due, certainly, but nothing wrong with a little, sibling rivalry. I think they're "mature" enough to take it.

You know .....

928 owners are always, without exception, the first to cry foul, that other Porsche owners don't wave at us, or ignore us, or are soccer moms, or think the 928 isn't a Porsche, or it's a pig, or heavy, or didn't speak to us at the local PCA rally ... etc etc etc.

I have never seen a 911 with a sticker on the back that had a 928 with a red line though it. I grew up with Porsches. That means by definition, I grew up with 911's. I rode in them as a baby, learnt to drive in 911's; drove them later in life and more recently I've owned a 911, and I plan on owning more 911's the rest of my life.

I'd like 3.

It is all in fun. Nothing serious or a statement about package size. If it offends you, you've got some seriously wadded panties; get over it.

Cheers,

Will the sticker go on outside the window or be a static cling type that goes on inside, facing out?

I'm putting together quotes for both. I recently had a bunch of inside static stickers made for something else.

I'm truly sorry,H. I didn't realize the kind of abused childhood you had. You should be proud of having been able to overcome such a terrible environment. Even if others won't, I'm willing to overlook your unfortunate upbringing and accept you as you are, 911's and all.

O.K. Hacker I will go slow.Whan I said that I wanted a Sticker for my wannabe track car my sig. states 78"928 Wannabe track car (no stickers on the S4) as for the po-po that would be for your well documented brush with Law Enforcement at your Sept.10 Packer party.(good thing you came back clear on the warrents check the officer did on you or you might of had to leave that party early) Being a race fan I thought that you might have gone to Elkart Lake for the race weekend. We are glad to see that Katherine Legge is O.K. as well.A little more catch fence involvement and that could of been real ugly. Gerry

I'm with Heinrich and Joe; leave the 911 alone. I would be angered if I saw an anti-928 sticker on a 911. If you want respect, you must first give respect. Besides, sporting a sticker like that just screams "911-envy." Whether you intend it or not, that's what people will interpret it as.

Can't say I'm offended, but that sticker does look like 911 envy, some sort of identity crisis or inferiority complex. I'm well schooled in the water-cooled zone (72 911, 83 944 and 99 boxster in my driveway) and my first thought is 'who cares what cools your car?' I'd love to have a 928 in my garage - I've loved them since I was a little kid, especially the older ones (love those tail lights!). Most of the 911 guys I know are well aware that a comparable year 928 will smoke a 911 in top speed and comfort. Nobody cares. When the hell do you get your car to top speed anyway? They're all damn fun cars to drive, and each has their ups and downs. You want to pick on someone? Pick on rice rockets! Ask them what park they stole the bench on their trunk from!

. . .and, other than the turbos, in 0-60 times as well. Now, slalom times are another story . . .

The point is that the 911 crowd (I used to be one) has always made remarks about the water cooled folks ie, not a proper Porsche..... Just for fun, we can throw that back at them. Of course, we all know that the 356 bunch are the worst. Used to be one of them too. I am not offended by the 911 and 356 folks and they should not be offended by me. It is just a kind of back and forth banter that friends engage in.

Lighten up,if you did not have a sence of humor you probably would not have a Porsche (of any kind ) in the first place.
