Sportin' Stroseks
Thanks to David Hendrickson for snapping the pics of my new (to me) Strosek rims. I got them from Bob Voytcheff in Vancouver B.C., who found them in Japan.
They are my favorite rim for the 928, and it was a bonus to me to find them in 18's. I didn't know they existed in that size as I'd only seen 17's before.
They are 8.5x18 and 9x18, I'm running 235's in the front and 265's in the back. I believe the offsets in the front are 56mm, I don't know what the rears are, maybe 52mm?
I'm running Kumho SPT's, and am very please with them so far. Excellent dry and wet grip, and they handled the track well too. I believe these are the summer tread versions of the 712's.
It's been interesting getting the feedback from others on them, it seems that every other person either loves them or hates them. No accounting for taste when it comes to cool rims I guess.

Very cool!
Yes, they are a bit retro, vintage sci-fi even, but still really cool looking...
They really fit the look of the car, which is also retro-sci-fi looking...

I have the same wheels on my 928 GT - I have 10.5J X 18J with ET47 at the back and 8.5J x 18J at the front with an ET of 55. Unlike yours, mine are polished and then clear coated - factory finish - which is a major PITA as they need refurbishment... Yours are three piece, too? Paid around $750 for mine including reasonable Potenza S-02 all round...

Posted to the thread, can't see them?
The volunteer board unfortunately ran out of steam, and we didn't get very many renewals for the second volume. If you were one of the folks that renewed, feel free to contact me directly atb928@comcast.net

You stole 'em at that price! I paid $1800 for mine bare. I figured that if I were to buy any other 3 piece (yes mine are), it would costs me more than that and I wouldn't like them as much as the Stroseks. Plus, these were mint!
My plan is to ulimately put the centers on different rim halves in order to increase the widths and get the proper offsets.
But for now, I'm just going to run 'em and enjoy them.
Props to sharky and imo for "tellin' it like it iz", and to everyone else for the thumbs up.
These were a critical component to the ultimate look I wanted my car to have, that I truly thought I'd never get a chance to obtain. I'm stoked to have them.
Are they supposed to be here? Or can you link to the thread where there at?
And what happened to the 928 publication, anyway???
