Help me identify these chips....(please)
When I bought my car, I got a couple of extra ignition chips. Here's a pic. Can anyone tell if these look like aftermarket chips? Any way of tracing the numbers? I've not screwed around with my engine management, or even looked at what I have in there now. It may even be that these are stock chips, and I've got aftermarkets installed? I could look and see what I have in the car. Are they in the passenger footwell? Based on my pulling 265 on a dyno earlier this year, I'd guess I have stock in place.
I know there is always the debate about how effective aftermarket chips are, but can't they at least advance the ignition to make better use of higher octane fuels? We're blessed here in TX with 93 octane (less than $2.50/gallon now too ), so I'd have to believe something could give to produce a little more power. I know this to be true with my 911, as Porsche had to make a "one size fits all" setup to cover all of the various fuels found around the globe. At any rate, can anyone tell me what I have?
