I imagine we could adopt the 356 in a pinch but you do have a month to get the S4 up to speed. G

New wheels?? What did you get, lets see some pics.

We also need to hear from the racers. Who's coming down with their race cars?

Nothing too fancy, just got the 17" Sport Edition Cup 1's, which apparently have replaced Mille Migla's. Or replica of the factory C-2 Turbo wheel. Tires are Kuhmo 225/45 & 255/40s. Will put them on this weekend. Here's a pic of the ones I got & a pic of the factory wheel from Wheel Enhancements.

As far as 928 racers coming to Daytona, we should have John Oppihle & John Argerious from here in Florida. Stan Shaw, John Veninger & David Lloyd can't make it down this year, though I tried & they wanted to. They may make it to Sebring in early 2007. We're hoping by next year to have them all down for Daytona. Also hope that Mark Andersen has such a great time at Sebring next Feb. in his "loaner shark" that he can make it back down for Daytona '07 too!

I think as far as a race goes for PCA, it will grow quickly into a popular event. The course will include both the 30 degree high banks & the road course portions of the track & is the same that is run at the Rolex 24 hours.

Anyone who got an e-mail from Mel about this, try to reply to him either way so he can get a feel for attendance possibilities. If you didn't get one, reply right here and help make this something to be excited about. G (Here's hoping for a midnight track tour).

What would happen if we just drove out onto the track really late at night?

Anyone know if our designated location will include any type of rv hookups. I checked the official site but was unable to locate a satisfactory map. G

Will this event also allow a couple of laps on the track during the lunch break? I know that is allowed at Sebring. Just wondering. Thanks

According to Mel these folks are a little more uptight. Here's hoping they loosen up.

I know anytime they allow a "parade" lap on the main oval, they do not allow you to go up on the 30 degree bank, you have to stay down on the flat portion. I've seen them allow that but usually its in conjunction with a sponsoring group. For instance, about 7 years ago, at an annual Historic race there that was sponsored by Brumos, they allow Brumos to lead all who were there with their group to have such a parade lap. Cant remember why they did that year, cause they didnt the year before or the year afterwards & Brumos sponsored the race every year. I would be suprised if they allowed us regular folk on the track, especially since this is the first time they've ever even had a PCA race there. I've always heard that Sebring doing so was something specific to them, sort of a tradition at the 48 hour PCA race there. But hey, we can always ask right??? Perhaps I can throw that question towards the PCA rep as a suggestion since Sebring does it at their race. He's a PCA racer so I know he knows all about Sebring.

I remember why Daytona allowed Brumos to escort their group on the track. It was actually 8 years ago in 1998 and it was in conjunction with the 50th year anniversary of Porsche. So that was a very special occasion. In fact, as I remember it, they pretty much allowed any Porsche at the Historic Race to get in line for one lap round the track. In all honesty, it did not even come close to comparing to the 30 minutes of VIP driving on the road course at Sebring on Sat. & Sun.
