FWIW - and I have a driver car (not a concours by any stretch)...

When I redid my interior I had the same warped headliner in a million places from a leaky sunroof. Tried to repair with fiberglass but it was too far gone. I took the old headliner out and made a new one out of corrugated plastic (what campaign signs on the side of the road are made from).

Laid the old headliner out and traced and started cutting. Used new vinyl from Joann fabric. Have not found a way to recreate the border around the sunroof yet.

The two major bends occur where the headliner meets the top of the A-pillar - the force of the screws for the mirrors created the bend. Again - its NOT prefect by any means, but looks a lot better than what was in there.

I'll try to add some pics.

Thanks drscottsmith! I also read that a household clothes steamer really helps loosen things up and that folks were carefully cutting those apart ...mind the black goo...

928 Int'l is sending me a black vinyl one in good shape...will be really nice to finally have a headliner that doesn't pull down in the front...and that doesn't rattle where the visors park.
