Default AC Compressor Rebuild Kit

I read trough this tech article over at Pelican Parts and got to thinkin' While my AC system is down for o-ring and hose changes, why not rebuild the compressor. It doesn't look too difficult. Now where do I get the compressor rebuild kit? Does anyone know?

http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...so_rebuild.htm

Thanks,

John, you can order the parts online. It cost about $31 shipped. I did the compressor in my '89GT this past summer along with all the o-rings and dryer. You need two kits;

and

It's pretty easy, the hardest part was splitting the front of the case to replace the seals. I used a very small screwdriver and gently went around the case to break the seal without scaring the case. They supplied a metal gasket for the case instead of the paper one that came on the compressor and when I put it back together that changed the clutch clearance causing the clutch to drag. I found I could use one of the old bolt washers for the clutch spacer, worked perfect.

The shaft seal is the most difficult part and you have no way of testing before reinstalling the compressor.

Unless you really know what your doing , you might be better off having your's rebuilt by a rebuilder. A seal leak can be costly due to price of refrigerant.

But parts are available cheap. For the Nippondenso 15PA20C,

That's what I need, great stuff.

Ok, I'm going to add new o-rings, new hoses, new drier, rebuild compressor and a new expansion valve; the main AC expansion valve doesn't look so good. Any thing else I need to do while I'm at it?

The article says it's a 3-beer job. I'll get a six pack just in case.

Thanks,

Flushes with an approved solvent. Especially, if your reverting back to R12, had a compressor failure, or system open for extended period of time.
