Default HVAC blow by

Before i start digging under the airbox i'd appreciate an opinion based on the following. Came home last nite after a spirited half hour blast and as i pulled into the garage the inside of my windshield fogged up instantly and steam was pouring out from the hood just in front of the windshield on the outside. The car ran normally and the coolant level this morning is only slightly down in the reservoir. I'm hoping its something like a faulty valve or split hose.....don't see any oil in the antifreeze or foam on the oil cap so i'm not expecting head gasket or similar. thanks for any opinions.

You may need to remove the lower airfilter box to examine the fitting on the back of the passenger side head ,the short hose from that to the heater valve ,the heater valve ,and the heatar hoses which run behind the engine allong the fire wall

And last weekend we saw the hose port on the block for the heater valve fall out - epoxied it back in, waited 24 hours, went out racing. Based on location of the steam cloud, I think H'man has it nailed.

Bill that's why they superseded that port with a one-piece unit in I think '88

Hmmm...This was an 88. Lemme check the PET.

Back... I do the the change in 88 in the PET. Maybe the car was an 87. It's Tim & Cheryl.

Thanks for the tip, Hman!
