Another thing, this all happened after I switched to Redline Racing ATF. Which seems to be thinner and likes to leak more than the regular stuff.

Sounds kinda like my '89 S4. Have you done the pinch bolt release/retourque? The whine on mine seemed to come from all the torque tube at times.
