Default Nice work truck!

Hi,
I was at the lumber yard today and picked up some 12 foot cedar siding to replace some rotten boards on my garage. I pulled in to load up after I paid. Lots of vans and pickup trucks. One wisecrack was "one unit of 2 x 4's?". Anyway I got my siding and strecth-wrapped it together with a flag on the rear, all sticking out my hatch. I was just about ready to go and one of the yard guys looked over and smiled. He just said "Nice work truck."
928's are pretty practical.

yep, though I don't do this with my 928 I did it all of the time with my 87 Civic Si. I amazed people with what and how much I could haul in it. No matter how careful you are someday you will skin something up and regret using it.

Food, beverages, ice, charcoal, etc. for 50 person picnic fits neatly in the 928, with the hatch closed. Fastest station wagon on earth.

Perfect Sam’s Club grocery getter. I’ve loaded her with 400 lbs. of softener salt and have brought home a Christmas tree. Travel well, packs great and screams when you want her to. What more could you ask for?

True, but with the factory cover over the rear hatch area, you can't see whose heads they are...

Or were you referring to long-haired guys who really like listening to Deep Purple, Hendrix, etc....

I have been "on the road" for a month with the rear filled with:
a tent, a sleeping bag, 5 tarps, foam sleeping mattress, LARGE soft sided suitcase, suit bag, shotgun and ammo can, flares, propane cookstove (2 burner), propane bottles, cooking utensils, corningware electric hot plate (for motels), pots, pans, food for a week, water jug, umbrella, car cover, emergency triangles, coveralls, tools, some small spare parts and relays, jumper cables, boots, spare sneakers, CD case with lots of CDs (usually on the seat), maps, couple of hats, blanket, emergency survival kit, folding shovel, hammer, spare tent stakes, light rope, toilet paper, roll of paper towels, shop towels, hand cleaner, emergency 12V light for under the car or under the hood, and some other crap I can manage to suff in. And I still have room for an EZ Up canopy if I go to the race track. AND I can see out the rear. The campmobile. Far out. I can't wait to get on the road again.....

Transported a 32" widescreen LCD TV.
Was dreading having to de-box the TV and risk cracking the LCD.
Nope. 928 with rear seats folded swallowed the whole thing with room to spare.
Lashed the big box to the rear tie-downs and off I went.

With the passenger's seat fully reclined a rolled up 8 x 10' oriental carpet will fit entirely inside the car with the hatch closed

LMFAO... I'm glad you posted it! Now I know that I'm not the only one who has run to home depot and had 2x4's hanging out of their hatch! These cars are SOOO versatile.. lol..

EDIT: And not to forget the guys look from the Sears employee when I fit this giant workbench box into the back... He said on the way out, "Well, I hope you have some sort of an SUV to fit this into.." Well, not exactly.. But it fit all the way in!
