Did the brake reservoir mounting bracket look like this, on #498 there? I hadn't seen this style before:

How 'bout the power steering pressure hose? I have never seen this heat insulation on a '78 before, looks factory. This is on Euro #428 that I've been working on.

I will check, can’t seem to find that house at this moment. It’s buried, lol

Why doesn't that hose go up over the cam box, and back down ? never saw that insulation before..the hose looks like it was rebuilt with a shorter length... and it would need more homemade insulation because now the rubber section is close to the exhaust manifold.

Couple of the earliest central warning units (1-1977) from cars 1 and 2, it's good to have the correct spares around to troubleshoot! Yes those are paper tags held on with clear tape.

Entirely possible it's a rebuilt line at some point, but it looks like factory-quality swages underneath the asbestos-y looking insulation. It's probably just some fastidious German hydraulic shop's work. This car (Euro #428, 10/77 build date) was imported to the US in '85 with 32,000 km (19,900 miles), now has 48K miles and is extraordinarily original. Thought the hose might be an early original that they then decided an extra foot of looped hose was a cheaper solution.

EDIT: Are you doing brake light troubleshooting? I have more familiarity with that particular page of the current flow diagrams than I would prefer.

Default Dutch Grand Prix 1979

I just watched the TV documentary about the Dutch Grand Prix of Formula 1 in 1979 as a preparation to the Formula 1 race next Sunday 5th September in Zandvoort. I noticed this orange 928 officials car.
Watch the race next Sunday! It will be epic with the new banked curves as a way to make the high speeds straights longer. Unique in Formula 1! And Zandvoort is such an exciting track! Many challenging curves, old school, now with latest technology calculated banked curves.

That sounds it will be interesting to watch! I hope it goes better than the banked-curve race at Indy in 2005, where 14 of 20 cars (all Michelin runners) pulled into the pits at the end of the formation lap. Only six cars raced, all on Bridgestones. I was at the race and got up and left as lap two began.

Obligatory photo
