You do know that the small hole visible in the solid section to the right goes over the TB vent hole? So the exhaust for the grit is way aft of that and would fall somewhere between the coolant res and the windshield washer fill port. I guess it is assumed that any grit would remain suspended til it hit said apparatus and the vortex generated causes it to fall???

Pic is of useless (new) damaged banjo on rebuilt hose supplied by a hose shop in NC that I will not publicly name. See dimple at 11:00 position. Chalk up another expense to live and learn.
