Congrats on the numbers Louie! I think you have vindicated the "old-school/all motor" school of thought.

Is The Great White Hope (Louie's GT) the most powerful (porsche blocked) road-going 928? I don't recall seeing another dynograph with these kinds of numbers. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
I expect the SC,TS,TC, engines have already surpassed these numbers by quite a bit, or soon will. Well, the ones from Wisconsin for sure. If not documented yet, all it takes is a bigger/smaller pulley/different turbine housing/rotor. Right? When I was working up the intake, I was expecting 500, hoping for 550. The better than expected results is pure icing on the cake.

Rain, lots of rain. From the coast of Oregon all the way to Idaho it just pretty much rains all of the time. And the crime rate in Louie's 'Hood, fuhgetaboutit.

Wow.... what a great post to read to make you glad you are a Shark owner & somehow in a very, very small way distantly connected to such an incredible car & the incredible people who've worked so hard & long to make it. Feel kinda like the lowly lizard looking up & dreamin as he watches the 15' Alligator stroll by!

I laughed, I cried, I was awed as I was at times lost in the full lack of understanding all of the technical jargon, & yet truly inspired, holding my breath in anticipation of reading each next posts.... truly an Oscar winning effort on your part Louie & those who helped you achieve your goal.

And funny you all mentioning people moving to Oregon, here I had the thought of how great it'd be for Louie to move to the great Sunshine State of Florida! I also had the thought of when was production going to start up on this Shark monster engine??!! Geeze... I'd love just to see some pics of it, much less ever be so fortunate to see it in person!
Truly impressive Louie, from a lowly shark owner who's just glad to somehow be a part of such a great group of people & these awesome cars!

Amen to that. It's all good, as long as its in a 928.

Do you have any pics?????????????????????????????????
Hi Brian,
FWIW I took a pic of the test setup. Pretty basic. I expect to lose some power with the airbox and filter. The challenge will be to try and lose as little as possible. Yes, Marc is figuring out how to make the strokers work good even with a sorta stock S4 style intake. I think he has something else in the works too. Not sure exactly what yet.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.......sure. I always say that about Kauai. No one should go to such an unpleasant place. Sure, sure. Go to Maui or the Big Island and leave Kauai pristine for the locals. Terrible place. Rains alot. Lots of tourists. Who would want to spend time in paradise?? Right. Sure.

Well, I had occasion to find myself in Mosier recently and I liked it. Stopped at an interesting shop with vintage Porsches and lots of memorabilia and a nice owner who told me Louie lived around the corner and was busy making more power from his engine project. Of course the truth was I was lost on the Parade rally but the experience was fun. Seems someone placed incorrect instructions in the parade route and they called for a left turn instead of a right.
I didn't get back to the parade site until that night but did enjoy my time in Mosier. Peaceful place along a rather wide river.

Don't forget about the sand, dust, and poison snakes, and bugs everywhere, forest fires, and killer grouse.

Didn't feel right at first, but after DRIVING the car for a couple years, you sort of forget about it after a while.

But you're right, it isn't as "right" as an incompletely-assembled stroker sitting in the garage collecting dust...

Thanks very much Mel. Also for the invite to FL. I've been there and don't think it would work out very well. The sunshine would dry out the moss on my back. When that happens, it's very uncomfortable and itchy.

Ron,
You were within 6 miles of my house. Next time you are that close, stop by for a visit. The Parade can wait. My neighbor and I went in to The Dalles where y'all were having lunch. Guess we missed you. We were a little late for lunch, but saw a lot of nice Porsches and even a couple of 928s
