Default groaning steering

I don't use my 928 much just 5 miles or so a week at weekends. I have noticed that the steering has started to groan when turning lock to lock stationary and parking . What is the likely cause of this ?

low power steering fluid, I notice mine also does this for a few lock to lock turns when it has sat a few days. check your fluid i think you will find the issue. the question that sucks is, where did the fluid go?

thanks I'll check it out. I kinda assumed that as there was no obvious leakage it would be something else. Mind you I reckon most of the leakage would occur when you are driving and not stationary.

groaning = cavitating (pump air instead of fluid)
