Anybody want to TRADE MY 86.5 928 for Your 79 924?
I have come to realize that i am not mature enough for a 928! its an 86.5 red 5sp with magnaflow racing straight thru mufflers, it SNARLS ! AND I LOVE IT. I'm always a gear or 2 (or 3, lol) lower than i should be. yet i'm 5-10 mph(or 20 - 30 !) than the posted limit. i can't seem to not drive it like a teenager would. I think everyone should have a 928 5sp at least some time in thier life or they haven't lived.
So, my solution was to go and make a deal for the only S4 in town because it is an auto with a light exhaust upgrade. i've been driving it for a couple of days and I'm still not mature enough. as a matter of fact it's worse. because i can't hold the gears for the desired sound i end up pounding on the car ALOT harder than my 5sp.. Thats when i realized a 2.0 Audi engine was in my future. LOL !

I was just talking to my friend about this yesterday. I was saying that I should probably get another Triumph Spitfire or something with similarly lower limits than the 928. Taking exit ramps at 3X the yellow signs is not good, and I find myself constantly WELL over the posted limits at all times. The 928 just loves to cruise. With the spitfire, I wouldn't be doing much over 80 ever as it just wouldn't go that fast.
So anyway, I understand completely. And if you're serious about trading, maybe I'll go find a 924 to trade.

I'm selling a very nice 944. I know it's not the same as a 924, but it's got the same interior. And it's not nearly as fast as a 928, but come on a 924 is slower than my old civic. A 944 is slow enough to keep you safe but peppy enough to keep you sane. 924s didn't have fuel injection, had ugly wheels, bad brakes, and no spoiler! The 944 is much more reliable and pretty. OK I'm done advertising. PM me if you're interested.
I've been working on my dad's 928 and I'm coming to realize that I want one, MAYBE more than my 968. A red 5-speed is ideal...
