The CIS is entirely capable of providing fuel up to 400 hp. In 1982 Porsche used the 928 fuel distributor on the 931 GTR (924 turbo) to produce 375 rwhp. Even with the 4 cylinder distributor the 931 can produce well over 200 hp with the proper boost. Since the fuel curve is mechanically designed into the CIS additional adjustments shouldn't be required.

From my understanding, you can run up to 9psi on the stock CIS and it will adjust fuel accordingly. Above that, you start playing with extra injectors and what-not. Capt. Carl of course could verify this

Hey Lance! Haven't heard from you in a while, you still going to pick up the turbo project again? PM me about it and the current project/s...
Do you know if the GM ECU will do wasted spark? Thinking about using all those parts if the tuning capabilities is close to today's off the shelf stand alone stuff. Obviously it can do all the normal stuff and understand boost, but wasted spark is the only thing I'm interested in above that for some mo' tuning. Sounds like a possibility for this 951 I have sitting around...

Hybred... If you do go the Megasquirt route, document everything for us! I really want to have full control with a stand-alone, but can't fork out the big $$$ for the system I want, and the mega will do everything I want and more. How tough was it to learn how to tune with it? Isn't there some sort of "auto-learn" feature or something that gives baseline mapping to get your car running, in some form?

928 motorsports is offering some enhanced fueling options, with a higher-capacity fuel distributor&lines and a(mechanically) adjustable warm up regulator...kind-of uncharted territory for most of us though.

yes it can do wasted spark you have to buy a gm HEI ingintion control module it like 15 bucks on ebay and it will work with the 928 stock coil. you'll have to burn your own chips. Wander over to the St/TY forums and see about tuning they run 18 psi safe. and you only gonna run 11psi at the most..
my 79 was just to low miles and problem free to touch. i could not bring myself to pull her apart. so i purchase a 914 to convert to 500hp @ 2200lbs. i'm just looking for a nice storsek or some other nice body kit for my 79.

A big word of caution...do not exceed 7-8 psig on this engine or you will likely have issues with broken pistons.

sure will. have you been to the megasquirt site? http://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html
they all have built in map sensors so they are perfect for boost. with additions being added all the time. i'd like to try the new 3.0 version with megaview also. it would be nice to make some fine tune adjustments without having to pull out the lap top with it.
