Coil spring compressor?

I like the new look, rear looks fine too! Wow, the springs I sent you are much shorter than your originals....I wonder how much was cut off or if they were originally as long as yours. What is the new ride height measurement?

Looks like at least 1.5 coils, and you came down a couple of inches.
Ah, so the key to pulling the front shock out the top is to have it compressed and the wheel well cover out? This avoids unfastening the A-arm. I know Tony undid the eccentrics and balljoints. I don't know why. I just undid the 4 inner A-arm mount bolts and one botl to swing down the kid plate. The shock drops out and there no change in alignment settings (unless you install different springs, of course).

I think it's cut down by 2.5 coils. I had to rotate the shocks 180°, which made it a little more difficult to get the lower bolt back in. I think 1.5 would have been just right. If it gets any lower from settling, I may still cut my old springs down.
Can you put the adjustable perches on the old Bilsteins?
I don't have the wheel well covers installed, and the early cars don't have the single cover which goes over the top anyway.
Once I pull the shock down, and moved the bolts past the tower lip, it was just a matter of rotating forward, and up and out.
It was a bit odd to hear the body creak back into shape when I let the spring out.

Tony did the extra step of removing the eccentrics and ball joints...definitely not needed.
Bill, early cars don't have the wheel well cover. I think Ken's method is a little crazy, but hey, that's just Ken!

It's settling too low, I'm afraid. The 245's are rubbing on the fender, and the spoiler rubs - on everthing.
So, I either cut my old springs, or buy new Bilsteins (which come with adjusters)...
