Default Metro Detroit Guys: Any nice 928s for sale locally?

I am looking for an OB 928 ('78-86). Looking for a good driver or better. Stick or auto. I am less picky about colors or options, but must be in good mechanical shape. I found a few interesting ones, but curious if anyone knows of any others. I really don't want to buy something sight unseen, and don't have the time to fly across the county to look at one, I hope to find on fairly local. Your help is appreciated.

I don't know of any off hand, but will let you know if I find any. I'll ask around at Beer night tonight.

Thanks Andrew. I wish I could make it to Beer Night, but I work late and the wife is sick.

I'm actually considering selling mine and upgrading to an S4 or newer model. I have to finish replacing one of the heads, first though. What's your time frame?

My time frame is whenever I find the right car at the right price. I sold my old toy about 3 weeks ago, I have a garage spot waiting for a nice 928.

If I want an S4, GT or GTS, I've got to empty the garage first.

I'd love to see it go to a good home and a fellow Rennlister.

Part out a car that just needs a new head??????

I'd be crucified, and I'd deserve it.

All I need to do is pull the engine and replace the head. Everything else was done last year (rod bearings, injectors cleaned, vacuum lines, motor mounts, water pump, belts, A/C seals, etc.). The tranny, torque converter, differential are NEW (4k miles). Why would I part it out?????

Because the sum is not worth more than the parts. You'll take a bath if you sell it whole. Just an economic reality.

Big Dave's car is really sharp lookin', and I don't think there's much of anything left to go wrong with it (sorry to rib ya, Dave!), so that could be a nice grab.

Also, doesn't Mark H (here Shaarks) still have his red '86.5 for sale? That's a sweet car, too. If you're able to make the Sharks in Hell gathering, Sfierle, you could check it out then. You might even be able to sweet talk somebody else outta their ride, too!

G'luck!

Sfierle, my 86.5 is for sale. I have not been trying very hard to sell it because it is such a nice ride. It is posted on the Rennlist Classifieds (#9) for $13,000 OBO. If you are interested in looking at it give me a call on my cell (734) 945-1214 or you can take a look on July 29th at the Sharks go to Hell event. Hope to talk to you soon, Mark H.
