Default *** Detroit Area Beer Night - TODAY *** (07-13-06)

It's that time of the month, again.

This Thursday (7-13-06), the local 928 owners will be having our monthly 928 get together here in the Detroit area - others are always welcome.

Location is the same as always @ the Four Green Fields Pub in the strip mall on the SW corner of 13 Mile & Woodward (right next to the Secretary of State's office) in Royal Oak, MI.

Things usually start around 6:30ish and go until whenever.

This month should prove quote interesting. There will be 2 supercharged 928's. My '91 GT and Mark H.'s '86.5. (Both are red... of course! )

We also have a lot of stuff to discuss regarding the Fresh Water Frenzy. Shirts are all set, but we need people to sign up for food/picnic items, route planning, etc. I'll have a signup sheet to pass around. Also, need to plan some Friday night events for out out-o-town guests, and Sunday morning events too.

See you Thursday.

Chaad-
You don't sound well at all. I think you better have MAc check you out. You may have come down with Borneo Flu. Incubation is 18 days and then the fever sets in for 48 hours. I've seen it a million times! Only cure I know is extreme speeds! Hope you feel better.

With all due respect, the way that monthly events like this get going is by announcing that you are having one. Beer nights are not rsiky to plan, since you have them someplace where the guests buy their own. After a few events, word gets out, folks use ink instead of pencil to mark it on the calendar, and you have a regular gathering.

The sad thing for you LV folks is the severe shortage of places to meet. The city-wide ban on alchohol coul;d be a stumble too.

That's kind of how we did it. It started out with 3-4 people getting together. Then we had a couple of times where only 2 people would show, but then it got bigger and bigger. We've had as many as 20 people and 12+ cars on a Thursday night. We tried holding it in different locations, but have found it's best to pick one place and keep it there - then everyone knows where to go and there's no confusion.

BTW, we picked Thursdays because most people can stay out a little bit on a Thursday. It usually does not interfere with family/weekend plans. The only drawback is that some people do work weeknights and can never make it. Just ask Chaadster.

I'll be arriving later than usual. Two of my sons have a baseball game tonight that I want to attend. Look for me around 8:00 or so.
