My guess is "never"..... If there is a computer that controls it...where is it?

Most of the newer MB trannys have "chips" that can be changed to boost performance just like a fuel or igniton brain chip?

All 928 automatics are electronically controlled, but the electonic control is limited to the electronic kickdown solenoid valve. Some 93 and all later GTS have a programmed kickdown relay.

Modern transmissions control all up and down shift points using electical servos and digital computer.

Other than the kickdown portion, the 928's shift points are controlled by a complex hydraulic system in the form of an analog computer.

I believe the question might be related to the Limited Slip Differential system on the 928. The LSD (Option 220) was a mechanical setup upthrough 1989. From 1990-1995, the car used an electronic LSD system derived from the Porsche 959.

Sincerely,
